The sea in Deauville or Trouville
Deauville is this great beach with its mythical promenade, the famous “Planches de Deauville”, and its colorful umbrellas. It’s this city that is dedicated to horse lovers. It is an ideal place to do a thalasso not far from Paris.

Gisors, in Normandy, is also a worthwhile stopover for a weekend around Paris. The town itself has a beautiful castle, where the Templars are said to have hidden their treasure. It is also worthwhile to go to Giverny to discover Claude Monet’s property, with its water garden which inspired the painter. The visit itself is usually a matter of a few hours and can easily be combined with a stay in Gisors: the two places are located about 40 kilometers from each other.

The artists’ village of Auvers-sur-Oise
Bordered by the forest and the wheat fields, this village has always inspired artists and particularly the Impressionists. Stone houses, low walls covered with ivy, steep paths leading to wheat fields, forests and the banks of the Oise… By escaping industrialization, Auvers-sur-Oise has remained practically the same since the 19th century, when Van Gogh, Cézanne and Pissarro came here to draw their inspiration.

This is a very good idea for a weekend not far from Paris. Go and discover the pretty Grand’Place, walk in the streets of the Old Lille with its typical architecture… You can also go up to the top of the belfry of the Town Hall (which is the highest in Europe with 104 meters high) for an amazing view of the city.
Lille is also rich in museums, especially for art lovers. On Sundays, you can go to the big market of Wazemmes.
